RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL

_PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME_

*THE SECOND COMING IS NOT FOR THE SAINTS*

*…when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Thessalonians 1:7-8).*

*The distinction between the Rapture and the Second Coming of Christ, for most people, has been a source of confusion.

Nevertheless, the Scriptures unambiguously delineate these two distinct events.*

_First, the Second Coming of Christ is not intended for Christians. The Rapture of the Church is meant for Christians, and it will occur before the Second Coming._

*In the Second Coming of Christ, we will come together with Him, but it's primarily a time of judgment. It's called the day of His wrath, the day of His judgment (2 Thessalonians 1:7-8).

This judgment takes place before He establishes the 1,000 years of peace. In Matthew 24:29, where Jesus Himself speaks about this, He said, "Immediately after the tribulation of those days...."

This indicates that the Second Coming of Christ will occur after the Great Tribulation.*

Matthew 24:30 says, “And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.”

They will mourn because they weren't expecting Him, they didn't believe in Him.

*But notice what it says in the 10th verse; this judgment will take place "When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day" (2 Thessalonians 1:10).

Observe that it doesn’t say when He shall come to be glorified "by" His saints, but "in" His saints.

The significance here is that He will be glorified in us, and those who see us will admire Him in us. They’d wonder at His glory in us.*

This aligns with what John said in 1 John 3:2, "… when he shall appear, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is."

When He comes, we come with Him, looking like Him; they’ll see His glory in us, and they’ll wonder at it. Hallelujah!

           *PRAYER*

Dear Father, by your Spirit and your Word, I’m prepared for the Rapture of the Church, living my life for the Lord, every day.
I walk in love, and my faith is activated to be caught up to meet the Lord at His appearing, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

TO THE BIBLE:
Isaiah 63:9-10
“In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the Angel of His Presence saved them; in His love and in His pity He redeemed them; and He bore them and carried them all the days of old. But they rebelled and grieved His Holy Spirit; so He turned Himself against them as an enemy, and He fought against them.”

LET’S TALK
The indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit in your life is one of the greatest blessings you have as a child of God.

He’s your advantage and the secret to a glorious and successful life. So you must recognise and take advantage of His ministry in your life.

It’s the ministry of the Holy Spirit to guide and lead you in all your affairs; it’s His ministry to grant you the wisdom and counsel you need to win every day.

Consciously acknowledge His presence with you and in you, and learn to yield to Him always. Never ignore His counsel.

The Bible says in Isaiah 30:21, “Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.”

Whose voice do you think that is? It’s the voice of the Holy Spirit! He speaks to us daily on life’s issues through God’s Word, but many ignore His counsel because His voice is never harsh against us.

Perhaps you talked to someone rudely and the Holy Spirit corrected you, be quick to heed His correction and make amends.

Otherwise, His voice that used to be clear to you may soon become faint and distant if you continually ignore Him.

Make up your mind to live your life in a way that brings honour to the Holy Spirit. Appreciate His presence in your life, and you’ll be glad you did.

A LIFE OF PRAISE

And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the Lord, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying: “Praise the Lord, For His mercy endures forever.” (2 Chronicles 20:21)

Do you know that our praise to God aren’t mere words and melodious sound?

No, they’re much more. In fact, it’s one of our weapons of victory against the devil.

Remember King Jehoshaphat? He was challenged to a battle by three strong nations. What did he do?

He assembled singers, and put them in front of the army. They won the battle without firing a shot (2 Chronicles 20:22).

A life of praise is a life full of an unending victory. So, take advantage of every opportunity to worship, and see your life move from one victory to another. Glory to God!
